Hey Grand Blanc High School students! If you want a way to make a few bucks online, here is one way to start - become an Amazon.com affiliate.
- Get creative and think about an interest or hobby you have that would make a good blog.
- Sign up for a free Weebly account and get your blog started. Write a couple of pages about your hobby. Add in the following at the bottom of each page:
“[Insert your name] is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to [insert the applicable site name (amazon.com, amazonsupply.com, or myhabit.com)].”
Also, add in a note for visitors to turn off their ad-blockers in order to see the products you recommend.
- Go to Amazon.com and click the button, Join Now For Free. Get your parent's permission and assistance as you go through the process of signing up. You will need to provide the URL of your Weebly blog.
- While signed into your amazon.com affiliate account, search for products that are related to your interest or hobby. Here is an example of a green screen kit:
- Follow the directions about highlighting and copying the HTML. Then go back to your blog and paste that product's html into one of your posts that are related to that product. In this case, I would write a post about how much fun it is to use green screens for videos.
- Start spreading the word about your new blog! If a visitor clicks on one of your Amazon.com ads and purchases the product, you generate a commission!
